Giselle is your personal concierge. To keep your world in order, she keeps a small, deliberate amount of information close — and nothing more than she needs. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the control you keep at every step.
In this policy, "Giselle," "we," "us," and "our" mean Giselle LLC, the company that operates the Giselle app (the "Service"). "You" means the person using Giselle.
The full details follow.
Giselle LLC is a Tennessee limited liability company. You can reach us any time:
For the purposes of data-protection laws that use the term, Giselle LLC is the "controller" of your personal information.
We collect only what Giselle needs to do her job.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Supabase). You may also add your phone number, but this is entirely optional.
What you tell Giselle. Giselle works with the things you give her — the content you enter into the app. This includes your Exhale notes, your tasks, and the facts you save about yourself in About You. You decide what to share; Giselle only ever works with what you choose to give her.
Pet photos. If you add a photo to a pet's profile in The Companion, that photo is uploaded to and stored on our servers, so it stays with your account across devices and can appear on a care sheet you choose to share. You can remove it at any time from the pet's profile, and it is deleted with your account.
Your calendar. With your permission, Giselle reads and writes to the calendar you connect through your device's operating system — whether that's Google, iCloud, or Outlook. This lets her show your schedule and add events you approve. From that same calendar, Datebook surfaces the birthdays and anniversaries already saved on your device so Giselle can remember them with you.
When you share your day. If you choose to share today's schedule with someone in your Circle, Giselle stores a small snapshot on our servers so the link works: the date, each event's title and start time, and nothing else — no locations, no notes, no attendees. It exists only while the share is live: stopping the share deletes it immediately, and it expires on its own once the day has passed.
Your Circle, and your contacts. The people you add to your Circle — a name, how to reach them, and what they help with — are stored with your account so Giselle can draft the ask when you need a hand. To save you typing, Giselle can show you your phone's contact list when you're adding someone: with your permission, the list is read on your device only, to display it to you. Nothing is uploaded or synced — the only thing Giselle keeps is the people you choose, and for each, only the one number and email you confirmed. Declining access changes nothing except that you'll type details in yourself.
Approximate location. With your permission, Giselle uses your approximate location for one purpose only: fetching your local weather. We do not track your precise location, and we do not use your location for anything else.
Microphone, handled with care. When you speak to Giselle, your voice is transcribed to text on your own device. The audio itself never leaves your phone — only the resulting text is sent to Giselle. We do not receive, store, or keep any audio recordings.
We use the information above to:
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to providing Giselle to you.
This is a promise, not a setting.
Giselle prepares and hands off. She drafts; you decide. Giselle never sends email or text messages, and never books, buys, or confirms anything on your behalf. When something is ready, she hands it to you, and you review, approve, and send it from your own apps and accounts. Nothing leaves your hands without you.
This is how Giselle is designed to work, and it is also one of the most meaningful ways we protect you.
Running a service like Giselle takes a small number of carefully chosen providers. These providers process your information only on our instructions and only to help us deliver the Service. We share what each one needs, and no more.
| Provider | What they do | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and database | Your account details and the content you save. Each member's data is isolated by per-user row-level security. |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Generates your drafts and briefings | The text you provide, so Giselle can turn it into useful drafts and briefings. Your content is not used to train AI models. |
| Resend | Sends essential emails | Your email address, to deliver transactional messages such as sign-in and account notices. |
| Sentry | Helps us find and fix crashes | Technical error reports (what went wrong in the app and where in the code). Reports are scrubbed of message content by design. |
| PostHog | Private product analytics | Basic usage events — for example, that onboarding was completed — and website page visits. No advertising profiles, no data sold. |
| National Weather Service (NWS) and Open-Meteo | Provide local weather | Approximate location only, to return your forecast. |
A note on analytics. We use the two privacy-respecting tools named above — Sentry to catch crashes and PostHog to understand what's working — and nothing else. No advertising trackers, no data brokers. If we ever add another tool of this kind, we will name it here before or when it goes live.
We do not sell your personal data. We also do not rent, trade, or share it for anyone else's advertising.
We share your information only:
If Giselle LLC is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. If that happens, we will ensure it remains protected under commitments consistent with this policy, and we will notify you of any change in who controls your data.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so Giselle can do her job.
You can delete your account at any time. Deleting your account purges your data from our servers. If you'd like help deleting your account, or written confirmation once it's done, email us at hello@heygiselle.com.
Content you've shared by link (a list, a care sheet, a day's schedule) is removed the moment you stop sharing it, and a shared day's schedule expires on its own after the day passes — whichever comes first.
After deletion, residual copies may persist briefly in routine backups and are overwritten in the ordinary course. We may also retain limited information where the law requires us to.
We protect your information with care:
No service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information using measures appropriate to its sensitivity, and we hold our providers to the same standard.
You are always in control of the permissions you grant:
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
To exercise any of these, email hello@heygiselle.com. We'll respond within the time required by applicable law, and we won't treat you differently for making a request.
If you live in California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended.
Categories of personal information we collect. In the past 12 months, we have collected: identifiers (such as your name, email, optional phone number, and account identifier); customer records (such as your name and phone number); geolocation data (your approximate location, for weather only); photos you choose to upload (pet profile photos); schedule snapshots you choose to share (the date, event titles, and start times of a day you share by link); internet activity (basic app usage events and website visits, via the analytics described in Section 5); and other information you choose to provide (your notes, tasks, facts about you, and the people you add to your Circle). Because your voice is transcribed on your device and the audio is never sent to us, we do not collect audio recordings. We collect this information directly from you and, with your permission, from your device.
How we use and disclose it. We use these categories for the purposes described in this policy, and we disclose them for business purposes only to the providers listed in Section 5.
We do not sell or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give rise to the right to limit its use.
Your California rights. You have the right to know and access the personal information we hold, to request its deletion, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights. You may make a request yourself or through an authorized agent by emailing hello@heygiselle.com. We will verify your request as required by law.
If you use Giselle from the EEA or the UK, the following applies.
Legal bases. We process your personal information to perform our contract with you (to provide the Service you signed up for), based on your consent (for device permissions such as microphone, location, and calendar, which you can withdraw at any time), for our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and to send essential account emails), and to comply with our legal obligations.
Your rights. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
International transfers. Giselle is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses with our providers, to protect it.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@heygiselle.com.
Giselle is designed for adults. You must be 18 or older to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has used Giselle, please contact us and we will remove the information.
Giselle LLC is based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States by us and the providers listed in Section 5. By using Giselle, you understand that your information will be handled there. If you are outside the United States, please also see the regional sections above.
As Giselle grows, this policy may change. When it does, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll give you clear notice within the app or by email. Your continued use of Giselle after an update means you accept the revised policy.
We're glad to answer any question about your privacy.
